Olympic Lifting

Our Olympic Lifting class in Monmouth County, NJ is excellent for weight lifters, CrossFit athletes and athletes of all sports who want to take their knowledge and performance of the power and olympic lifts as well as their strength training to the next level. This class will accelerate your increase in power, strength and explosiveness while helping you develop size, endurance and greater athletic performance.

olympic-lift-class-monmouth-countyAthletes and weight lifters many times make the common mistake of training individual body parts and isolating muscles or specific muscle groups. While isolation exercises can help you develop muscle size and strength, it really doesn’t correlate to what you will encounter as an elite athlete or experienced cross trainer. How often in sports do you encounter a situation where the muscles are required to work in isolation (think bicep curl)?  In sports, muscles are required to work together across different planes.

Olympic lifting conditions the muscles to work together in multiple planes of movement.  The lifts learned in our training sessions will activate nearly all muscles at some point in the movement making the olympic-lift-class-monmouth-countyexercises much more similar to sports activity.

In life and in sports especially, we need impeccable stability and the ability to transfer force rapidly, especially through the core. This applies to any athlete whether you play football, wrestle, cycle, swim or perform gymnastics. Olympic Lifting will help you develop the strength and stability needed to transfer force with proper form, speed and precision. Incorporating Olympic lifting into your training beneficial for developing strength and power but they have a proven role in developing muscular co-ordination.
